Ben was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. After graduating high school; he attended the JCCC culinary arts program, but decided to pursue a more traditional education at the University of Kansas. While at KU Ben achieved a BA in History. He then worked as a Kindergarten teacher at a private school for a year. After that experience he went back to school to pursue a career in the legal field. He previously worked in family law, but opted to move to a field he felt more passionate about; which is why he is now at an environmental firm.
Ben is married with one son, Thomas. He and his wife rescued 2 dogs and a cat. He enjoys writing, working on home improvements, cooking, and going for walks with his family. He spends the last of his free time volunteering for local politicians or helping register people to vote.
